Heya! How are you?  It's been along time since I last heard from you. I hope all is good.  Let us know if you come to London this summer!

Hello,

Many thanks for the quick reply!  It was truly appreciated and many thanks for sharing about your trip to India too.  I have always heard lots of things about India including fascinating ones and those of incomprehensible poverty.

I hear that you have moved to another town! Which have you moved too and why did you decide to relocate?  The good thing is it sounds like you are settling in pretty well over there.

Well, it would be great for you come and visit London one day so that you can see the beauty that this city has to offer.  It would be lovely to show you around, but be warned that London or any British city or town will never be as beautiful and clean as German towns and cities are.  However, there is still history and architecture to be appreciated. London is one of the busiest tourist destinations in the world and the most of our visitors come from Europe.

So, what are you studying over there and when do you finish?

Regards

You're right. Owing to India's multifarious cultures and linguistic diversity, no two cities are the same. Calcutta is a small, quaint and homely city, as compared to Delhi. It's rich is Bengali culture, and is quite Anglicized, since it was the colonial capital. The people are friendly, and the Bengali cuisine is scrumptious. Though I am Gujarati, my family's settled in Cal. When I moved North to Delhi, it was a culture shock for me. Delhi's a big city; fast paced, cosmopolitan, and with diverse cultures; the political hub of the country. I haven't been to Hyderabad, sadly, but I've been a few placed in the South. Tell me about Germany. I have friends and family who keep going there, and I've always wanted to visit the country. Oh, and are you on Facebook? Because I sadly don't use this account much =/

Yes, I live in Chennai only. How was your experience in Chennai and India? Shock, surprise...? Don't worry - I will understand whatever you will say!

So how did you like India? Did you come here as part of some program?
I have a few friends down from Germany, working in Calcutta, my hometown.
I'm currently studying in Delhi though. Did you ever visit the capital?

India, Pt.I

I'm back.

Three weeks India exhausted me a bit, but that's mainly because of the tough programm we had. It's not only the daily "Indian" life we saw, but we also had lectures about different topics concerning India, such as poverty, inter-faith relationships, trafficing of girls and women, minorities etc.

My first station was Chennai, were we stayed for four days. They were...quite christian there. Once I wanted to buy a Ganesha-Statue, a small figurine, One of the students, who… Continue

Discussions on Vaccinations

Yesterday before one of my seminars, I accidently started a discussion about veganism (by now I usually avoid discussions of this topic, because mostly I feel like a zoo-ape). At the moment, I read a book on animal rights and the human role, and two friends of mine saw it. We startet talking about veganism (again...), how I live with it and how they can't live without meat. Some girls on the other side of the room noticed the topic and involved into the discussion. So suddenly we were five. And… Continue

Preparing India-Trip

Soo...at the moment I am, beside my studies, fully occupied with preparing my India-Trip. I bought a small book where I note my checklists (e.g. immunisations, mosquito nets), where and what to eat and what I definately should try out. Even if the trip is not until September, I am pretty excited already.

The other things I try to get done beside that are the sketch for a mural in my living room, my next tattoo and a serious plan for running... In other words: I have enough to do on… Continue
