Hey my lovely vegans, have you ever been at Pogo Cafe?
Hey I'm Lee, looking to chat with other vegans in the uk, SOMEONE GET IN TOUCH!! :P
Sorry, the 'u' got lost in Louise.
Loise, have you advertised on VegCom and Gumtree (as mentioned in the Directory at the top of Volentia's UK and Ireland group)?
Hello! Im Laura, From Haywards Heath x
I'm looking for a vegan flatmate to share my 2 bedroom flat in the centre of York. =)
It's £310 pcm, excluding bills but can be negotiated if necessary.
Available for any period of time between 16th Feb. and 4th June. (Even a week or so would be fine...)
Clean and tidy flat, usually very quiet. We have Broadband but no TV.
Open plan kitchen and sitting room with dining table and chairs, 2 sofas, big coffee table, etc. Bathroom includes bath with shower above and toilet. Room to let is downstairs with all of the above. My bedroom is upstairs on its own.
There's a small yard and flowerbed at the front of the house and the room to let has double glass doors leading out into the yard.
Please let me know if you have any questions or feel free to email me at hmmmmm88@hotmail.com or ring me on 07925 641299.
Thanks! Louise.x
Sorry, I meant Rudee (not Rudi), and here's the link for Karma, the UK's only 100% vegetarian (with vegan options) pizzaria, using non-slaughter dairy.
In answer to rabbitfood's question, we had Vegusto, Vegourmet, Redwoods' Cheezly, Bute Islands' Sheese and Toffuti at my recent singles event in Hampstead.
The first three were used on Karma Free Co.'s pizzas and all proved very popular. I found Toffuti mozzarella worked really well for cheese on toast (melted and went brown, under the grill) and Sheese mozzarella worked well in a toasted sandwich maker (didn't ooze out so much, as it doesn't melt as well).
Volentian Rudi, who owns Vx in London, reckons that Vegourmet is cheaper than, but just as good as, Vegusto (he sells both). Daiya, made in Canada, is popular in the States, but they don't currently have spare capacity to export to Europe (though it's probably too plasticy for UK tastes).
For more info, see Volentia's cheese alternatives group.
