There are more and more people considering vegetarian as their diet nowdays in Jakarta and i'm sure in Bandung (especially for religion reason though they still eat seafood)

you might find eating at vegetarian resto in jakarta or bandung to be over budget, well once a week or month might still considering ok enough for our wallet hehe

for beginner, i will very much suggest that no need to especially eat at vegetarian resto, as in indonesia there are plenty of resources for us learn to eat vegetarian. sundanese, javanese food is very much recommended as they at least have gado2 in their menu.. the worst case.. you can always ask for nasi goreng and kindly ask to be cooked with new/fresh oil (not already used to fry something else), eggs can be added or if you prefer not then you will need to inform the cook/waiter.

more and more restaurant aware of vegetarian resto, although further you will find annoying experience, as i did such as:

- when i asked, sir, this is vegetarian curry rite? no chicken? and the guy said, yes.. sure.. no chicken...
me: fiuh... *smile wider* and chicken stock?
guy: oh.. of course.. with chicken stock.. otherwise the curry won't be tasty
me: *stop smiling* well.. i can't that then.. could you please wrap it to go then, i'll give somebody at home to eat it so it won't be a waste.. *trying so hard not to cry.. i was soooo hungry*

- other case at Solar*a:
Me: Miss, this cap cay is veggies only rite? no meat?
Waitress: yes.. no meat.. only veggies and bakso (meat ball)...
Me: errrrrhhh.............. *speechless*

i'm way too accustom with all of that kinda experience when eating at common resto, but along the way it doesn't bother me tooo much like it used to, since i realize it'd be wasting more of my energy to make people around me understand me.. haha.. hope my story helps ;)
