We in India respect animals, since our way of life preaches love, harmony and non-violence. As Gandhi preached, there is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed. This is the basis of veganism, where we believe that animals need not be used, abused and slaughtered for our consumption. Veg food, which is both healthy and plentiful, can sustain us, and provide us a great lifestyle. Our food should appeal not only to our taste buds, but also to our conscience. Which is why the vegan life is the way to be :)

Glad to be here, however, if Veganism is not connected with religion or nation it will serve its purpose more better way.
As far as i know we indians were Vegetarian, but Vegan is from west ( rather i found all over the world, those are universally connected & used their energy to understand life ).

Metta to all
