i love makeup and i've been looking for products that don't test on animals. since i've gone vegan, i've been trying to make a bigger effort in limiting my purchases to vegan makeup. the shoes and clothes i wear are definitely ALWAYS leather/suede/fur free. since i accidentally bought an angora sweater from Target, i've made sure to always check tags! once you think you have it all down is when you accidentally slip :(

I'm from Upstate NY, so compared to NYC selection is limited... the best stuff is found online, truth be told.

Hey People! I am wanting to start up a vintage clothes shop, but I'm having a bit of a moral dilemma! I don't agree with leather, wool, fur or silk, and would NEVER buy them new. However, I love vintage, and I think re-using and recycling clothes so that they don't end up in landfill is very important. But what do I do when these second hand garments are made from animal by-products? Buying them second hand doesn't fuel the industry for them (as they were already made and profited from long ago) but I still don't like the idea of it. Is it better to recycle these garments so that they are worn again (which is good for the environment, as less new things are being bought) or should I just steer clear of wool, silk, leather etc? Help!
