Vegan Around the World Network

Inspiring vegan & eco travel and promoting & encouraging local vegan movements

I am a beauty therapist and have been looking long and hard for vegan products to use with clients that meet upto my expectations in their performance.

I have finally found a great range of skincare and make up products with Arbonne (www.tiptotoebeauty.myarbonne.co.uk) and also with SpaRitual's nail care products but I am struggling to find a vegan wax product. I offer both sugaring and waxing, but would love to be able to use a vegan approved wax. Does any one know of any good ones they would recommend?

Also I could do with a vegan way of performing nail extensions, I'm not sure if it even exists but again if anyone knows of any please share :-)

What about Nuskin? I use all my body products from Nuskin from shampoo to color make up.... I'm not 100% sure if they are vegan though. They do not use any chemical ingredients and that's for sure....
I used to take vitamins from the company too and stopped because I found that they use gelatin...

I should really check it this time.

Thanks!
I've not tried Nuskin before, I'll look them up thanks.

If you do look and find they're not 100% Vegan give Arbonne a go. They are Vegan and also chemical free.
Ok I would be careful about using NuSkin products. I have had a look and they contain Parabens which are one of the chemical groups that I try to avoid.

On my facebook discussions page are details of all the bad chemicals and the reasons why. If you want to find out more follow this link.

Also I can't see anything to suggest that there lipsticks are Tallow free. As 98% of the lipsticks on the market do contain tallow I always check for this. In case you don't know, tallow is made from boiled animals then the fat is skimmed off the top and that is tallow. A lot of companies get away with calling it a natural product, but that is why I only use ones that say they are free from animal products and animal byproducts.

Thanks
Hmm, for nail products I use SpaRitual too, but I'm not sure if they do nail extensions, maybe give them an email and see if they know anything about it. What part of nail extensions isn't vegan, do they use silk?
Unfortunaltely SpaRitual don't do extensions.

It's more a case with the extensions of not knowing exactly what is in them as it's hard to find a precise ingredients list. Also I try to avoid excessive chemicals and prefer using natural products which is where my difficulty with the extensions come in.

Thanks anyway, I'll keep hunting
Thanks very much that looks great, unfortunately a bit too expensive now I'm jobless :'(

Will definitely buy some when I have the pennies though, Cheers!

Hey Michelle,

I get most of my makeup from here:

http://www.pixibeauty.com/pixi-stores.html

They are not a 'vegan' company, but are as far as I can tell, small, independent, don't test on animals, friendly.

Some of their products used to contain a beeswax which after feedback has now been switched to a fruit wax, which I think now makes all products vegan. I go to the carnaby st store, so the manageress knows which products are vegan, think now the wax has been changed is all.

Btw, they have a new smudge liner that is amazing, you apply smudge then it fixes, no fade, amazing xx
For anyone in london, pixi have a sale on, items at £1!

So i got a bag of highlighter cream, liners, glitters, shimmer powders, blushers + more, 20 items, for £20.

Amazing! xx
Fab, if only all good make up was always so cheap!!!
